Rapper Ice Spice Teams Up With STARRY for Super Bowl LVIII Commercial

Ice Spice, the rising “Princess of Rap,” is set to dazzle the Super Bowl audience with her debut in a commercial for STARRY, PepsiCo’s new lemon-lime soda. The rapper’s venture into the Big Game’s advertising world follows the announcement of her upcoming debut album slated for a 2024 release.

This Super Bowl spot marks not only a significant milestone for Ice Spice but also for STARRY, as it will be the beverage brand’s first-ever commercial during the event. STARRY, already a sponsor of the NBA and WNBA, will now extend its reach to the Super Bowl stage, alongside its mascots, Lem and Lime.

Details of the commercial are still under wraps, but STARRY has hinted that the ad will feature Ice Spice alongside the green and yellow mascots. A teaser photo from the set shows the rapper enjoying a STARRY soda, perfectly matching her neon yellow nails with the drink, hinting at a vibrant and engaging ad.

PepsiCo, in a press release, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting Ice Spice’s charm and charisma as key reasons for her being the face of STARRY’s first Super Bowl commercial. “Partnering with the Grammy-nominated ‘Princess of Rap’ was a no-brainer,” the company stated.

For Ice Spice, this collaboration with STARRY is a continuation of her growing influence in the partnerships space. She’s been involved in various campaigns, including a concert to launch Bose’s “QuietComfort Ultra” headphones and appearing on Instagram’s “Close Friends Only” podcast with Doja Cat.

STARRY, since its debut in January 2023, has been active in its marketing efforts, collaborating with celebrities like Keke Palmer, NBA stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Zion Williamson, and LSU basketball star Angel Reese.

The anticipation for Ice Spice and STARRY’s Super Bowl commercial is high, as fans eagerly await to see how this collaboration will unfold on one of the biggest advertising stages. The commercial is set to air during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT on CBS.
