Official #TMobile commercial for the 2022 #BigGame with #MileyCyrus

The T-Mobile 2022 Super Bowl ad, “Miley Cyrus Sings for 5G Phones”, was part of a two-part campaign featuring Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus. The commercials used a parody-fundraiser style, encouraging viewers to switch to T-Mobile’s 5G network because other networks were not good enough for 5G phones.

Miley Cyrus, with Dolly Parton joining on guitar, sings a song about 5G phones and the need for a better connection, according to The Washington Post and Ad Age. Cyrus recorded the song in her Hollywood studio.

The ad suggested that phones “deserve the best” and need “more coverage close to home” and faster speeds, like T-Mobile’s network, which it claimed was “twice the speed of Verizon”.

Dolly Parton’s part in the ad consisted of telling Miley Cyrus to use her voice and “do it for the phones”.

T-Mobile made a $250,000 donation to Cyrus’ Happy Hippie Foundation as part of the campaign.

The ad featured an original song with a according to ADWEEK mock-PSA feel.

The ad aired in the first and second quarters of Super Bowl LVI.

The commercials were created by Panay Films and directed by Steve Pink, according to Ad Age and IMDb.
