Official #TMobile commercial for the 2022 #BigGame with #DollyParton and #MileyCyrus

The T-Mobile 2022 Super Bowl ad, “Do It For the Phones,” featured godmother-goddaughter duo Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus. The campaign consisted of two interconnected commercials that ran during Super Bowl LVI.

The campaign playfully suggested that 5G phones should not be “trapped on limited 5G networks”. Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus used their voices to encourage viewers to switch to T-Mobile’s 5G network, which the ad claimed was larger and faster than competitors’.

The first ad showed Dolly Parton filming a public service announcement-style message, stating that “America’s got a serious problem” involving 5G phones. She was later contacted by Miley Cyrus, who asked how she could help.

In the second ad, Miley Cyrus wrote and recorded a song to help the phones, with Parton joining in. The ad featured the chorus: “Let’s do it for the phones, they do so much for you. When they’re out there all alone, there’s something we can do!”.

The ads showcased the singers’ close relationship and featured an original song for the campaign. The music had a parody-fundraiser feel, adding to the ad’s comedic tone.

As part of the campaign, T-Mobile made a $250,000 donation to Cyrus’s Happy Hippie Foundation, which supports homeless youth, LGBTQ youth, and other vulnerable populations.

The commercials were created by Panay Films and directed by Steve Pink.
