Super Bowl 2015 will be a showcase for several Chicago ad agencies

Chicago ad agencies are prepping new advertising that could prove a significant part of the TV commercial mix for the upcoming 2015 Super Bowl on Feb. 1.

Certainly the most anticipated advertising debut in the 2015 Super Bowl is likely to be a new TV spot from Leo Burnett Chicago for McDonald’s. The Oak Brook, Illinois-based burger behemoth (NYSE: MCD) has in recent months begun a multi-pronged business turnaround effort after a long stretch of sales declines. A new ad campaign from Burnett, including a Super Bowl ad, is supposed to be one part of that turnaround effort.

2015 advertising campaigns for Bud Light, including Super Bowl advertising, will be the handiwork of Chicago firm Energy BBDO. If the work is well-received by Super Bowl audiences, it could be a huge boon for the firm, which brought in a new chief creative officer last spring.

DDB Chicago, which has had success bringing in new business this year, will get a major Super Bowl berth in 2015 with a new ad for Skittles, a brand for which the agency has produced some quirky work this year that got the attention of jury members at the prestigious Cannes Lion festival in France.
