Audi A3 TDI Ad Slated

HERNDON, Virginia — Audi of America on Friday confirmed that it will advertise its Audi A3 TDI during the 2010 Super Bowl. It is one of the first manufacturers to commit to a spot during the sporting classic that is equally well known for its commercials.

Audi said rock band Cheap Trick will “reinterpret one of their classic songs for the ad.” The Audi spot will air during the fourth quarter of the game and “will have a fun, tongue-in-cheek environmental theme,” said Audi in a statement.

“The Super Bowl has worked,” said Scott Keogh, Audi of America chief marketing officer, explaining why the German brand is returning to the game.
