John Elway, Don Cheadle in TV ads for NFL

Former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway has gone Hollywood with actor Don Cheadle.

Elway is featured in one of several NFL playoff commercials, filmed at the Los Angeles Coliseum, that will begin airing Sunday. Cheadle, who was born in Kansas City, Mo., but graduated from Denver’s East High School, directed the ads and also will appear in them.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver/return specialist Dante Hall and Seattle Seahawks linebacker (and former University of Colorado athlete) Chad Brown are featured in separate commercials.

Cheadle appeared in similar commercials last year. His Super Bowl spot, titled Crazy, won a Cannes Silver Lion in the Entertainment and Leisure category.

The ad featuring Elway is titled, appropriately, Seven.
