Shania Twain Performing At Super Bowl
Other Acts To Be Announced
In addition to the smashing success of her new CD, hit-maker Shania Twain has another reason to feel “up.”
That’s because Twain is the first entertainer named to perform at the Super Bowl XXXVII halftime show at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego on Jan. 26.
The announcement of Twain’s appearance was made Monday on the Super Bowl’s official Web site. Other acts will be announced at a later date.
“I can’t imagine anyone getting up to go to the refrigerator with Shania Twain performing on the 50-yard line,” said Michael Sievert, chief marketing officer of halftime show sponsor AT&T Wireless.
Twain sold over 10 million copies each of her “The Woman in Me” and “Come on Over” albums, which yielded such hits as “(If You are Not in It for Love) I’m Outta Here!””You’re Still the One,” “From This Moment.”
Twain’s new “Up!” album sold 874,000 in its debut week and has held the charts at No. 1 for five consecutive weeks.
